I just want to start by saying, Mary, you slay all the feels I have ever felt. Listen up kids, this last book was a whirlwind of emotion, action, and intrigue. Roght off the bat we are transported back to Terraway for Mariang's funeral. Everyone is on edge as it is, and October not only has to deal with her heartbreak, but also hostile royals, disrespectful civilians, and an attack by Sama (all while wearing a dress, nonetheless!). After things settle (as much as they will for the gang) October discovers Danny has been keeping a little secret that could be harmful to, not only himself, but anyone he comes in contact with.October-being her usual bad decision-making self-enlists Finn's help through underhanded means so that she can eliminate Sam's once and for all. This leads to a sea monster, a father found (in the MOST unlikely suspect), and the destruction of my own personal heart. But wait, there's more! (But you have to read the book to for the rest, cheeky you!) I absolutely loved this series, and am so happy to have been blessed with the writing talents of Miss Mary, Queen Wombat! I read the series straight though. I finished a couple of days ago and was so emotional I couldn't get a grip on everything. Trying to wait and see how things settled with me but I'm pretty much still a wreck. The story drags you in and is so......I can't even find words. If you want to read a series that is edge of your seat, while you're yelling at the characters, this is it.
I actually put off reading this book because I didn't want the series to come to an end. It ended beautifully but not without a few more twists and a lot of tears. I'd hoped the climax of the novel could be had without any more casualties but it wasn't meant to be. Despite the moments of frustration and the tears shed, this is one of the best series I've read in years. It speaks to how solid the characters are that the reader is able to connect with them so well. Bravo to Ms. Twomey. I'll be reading more from her for sure as I know how talented she is. This series comes highly recommended. If I could give it more than five stars I would.
*Loved how October stood up for Danny and the funeral....and then when the rest of the family followed suit..wonderful scene.

My heart was breaking for Danny once again all through the book. Poor guy. However, great to read that he rallies in the end.
Loved how you wrapped up everything in the end. Although, I was hoping the bonus chapter was going to be Von and October's honeymoon. Not graphic details, just romantic dialog and some infamous Von jokes.
Overall, you did it again Mary Twomey...you made a good story great!!

In conclusion, the last book tugged on my heart strings through most of the book. I was very sad to think this was the end of the series.
I've been a fan of Mary Twomey since I stumbled across her Undraland series. I've read hundreds of books between the last of that series and the first of this one, and have yet to come across a better written book. Mary creates fantastical worlds and creatures, and is able to bring them to life for her readers. I'm so incredibly sad to have finished this series. I'm already missing the characters. I love how real they are, that even though it's a whole different world, they struggle with so many of the same issues, normal, every day people deal with. I'm crossing my fingers that she's working on another world I can submerse myself in soon
Laughter, tears, rightous indignation and so much more all wrapped up in this 8 part series. I received the first one for free. Through it I fell in love with the characters and their unique personalities. So much so that i had to get the whole series. Am recovering from surgery and i can't think of a better way to get through these tough days than with an amazing series such as this. Mary Twomey is a new author for me but I will be looking for more of her adventures to read. She has a way of drawing you into her worlds and holding you captive.
Even if this book seems out of character for you to choose (it was for me) and even if you hate series that are not stand alone books (my pet peeve) i encourage you to take a chance. Let this series take you on a roller coaster of a ride. You will love it.
I can't believe it is over..
Being with October from start to finish was a journey I will not soon forget.
Her courage, her strength, her love..October is everything that is imperfectly perfect for a heroine.
Trap, the final installment of the series, was very bitter sweet.
Just when you and October can't take any more heartbreak, the pain is amped up and you're left with wet cheeks and an empty hole in your heart.
But the pain isn't without happiness..truly bitter and sweet as October finally realizes all that she isn't and all that she is is enough for terraway and the people who love her.
The ride had so many ups and downs, the peach came out bruised, but even more sweet.
I will miss this series, october, von, mason...the whole family.
Out of the 8 books in this series, I disliked this one the most. It felt rushed and like the author was trying too hard to jam as much suspense and drama into the final installation. Furthermore, it ended with one guy and one girl, which is not a true reverse harem like the book is marketed as. I'll write a better review on this on my blog, but I disliked this one the most.
I will miss the characters and the worlds that Mary built, but I just wish this book would have been written with the detail and care like the others were. Or that there were more installments.
